The Archaeological Museum of Patras since 2008 is housed in a building by the architect Theofanis Bobotis. It has three large rooms for permanent exhibition, one room for periodic exhibitions, modern reception and public service areas, amphitheater, refreshment room, maintenance workshops, ancient warehouses and outdoor car park. The permanent exhibition of the Museum was completed in 2011 and finds exhibits dating from the 4th millennium BC. until the 4th c. A.D. and come from the city of Patras, as well as from areas of southern and western Achaia.

Museum of Folk Art of Patras

This is the folklore collection and archival material of the Cultural Center of Patras, which document an important part of the cultural heritage of the region. There is material related to: the cultivation of the land and the preparation of bread, in the cultivation of the vineyard, in the preparation of wine and tsipouro, in livestock, in the objects of household, use in the processing of wool and in the weaving with traditional loom and also from traditional workshops such as: Weaving, Printing, Hat making, Candles, Shoes. The organized guided tours of the students of Primary and Secondary Education, take place after consultation with the officials of the Museum. The Museum of Folk Art (Donated by the Cultural Center of Patras in the Municipality of Patras since 2012) is housed in the Hansen rooms of the Old Municipal Hospital of Patras (Koryllon Square-Ano Poli).

Press Museum of Patras

Μουσείο Τύπου Πάτρα

The Press Museum was founded by the Association of Editors of Daily Newspapers of the Peloponnese-Epirus-Islands based in Patras in 1956. Its purpose is to collect and preserve newspapers, magazines, manuscripts and other publications, which are proof of the history of our place. Part of the collection are newspapers from 1815, thousands of magazines from 1867, calendars, rare publications etc. Search for publications and items online through the digitized file on the museum page.

Museum of Science and Technology (MET) of Patras

Μουσείο Επιστημών και Τεχνολογίας Πάτρας, Ρίο, ΜΕΤThe Museum of Science and Technology started in 2001 as a Laboratory of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Patras. Today it deals with the acquisition, maintenance and study of Science and Technology documents that relate mainly to the existing Departments of the University of Patras.

The aim of the museum is to disseminate science to the general educational public as well as to support teaching of history of technology. Through the promotion of technological heritage and modern achievements, the public is given the opportunity to understand the world of science. In addition to the permanent exhibition “Telecommunications in our lives” in 3 thematic sections and periodic exhibitions, the museum holds information and training days, concerts and other events aimed at various types of audiences. Group visits and educational programs are carried out in consultation with the staff of the Museum.
